About JCS
The Julian Cho Society is a non-governmental organization in southern Belize devoted to indigenous rights. JCS was founded in 2004 having emerged out of the land rights movement in Belize. We aim to carry forward the legacy of Julian Armando Cho through programs that promote education, justice, and sustainable development.

Julian Armando Cho
Julian Cho was a Mopan Maya from southern Belize whose belief in social justice led him to join the Toledo Maya Cultural Council (TMCC). In 1995 he was unanimously elected chairman of the council where he would serve as an inspiring leader for the next three years. Julian was tragically taken from this world in 1998, but his legacy lives on in the work of this and other organizations.
